|“CSI: Miami” star David Caruso and writer Jeff Mariotte|
San Diego, October 22, 2003. IDW Publishing’s first CSI: Miami release, CSI: Miami-Smoking Gun, is featured in a segment on tonight’s Access Hollywood, the popular, nationally syndicated entertainment news magazine show.
Jeff Mariotte, the writer of the one-shot, went to the CSI: Miami set to meet some of the stars of the show and give them their own copies of the comic book. He met with David Caruso (Horatio Caine), Emily Procter (Calleigh Duquesne), and Khandi Alexander (Alexx Woods), all of whom were filmed by Access Hollywood for the piece.
IDW’s President and Publisher Ted Adams said, “IDW has always been dedicated to getting as much attention for our products as possible, and this is just one more example of that. Our CSI series has been covered by TV Guide, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, and other national press outlets as well as local CBS affiliates. Now CSI: Miami gets national attention on the day of its release, which can only lead to stronger sales for retailers.”
CSI: Miami-Smoking Gun, on sale in October, is a 48-page one-shot with a retail price of $6.99.
