Oops, sorry for the delay!

Nick Perks drew this Santa/Superman piece. And I'll add links to the previous days in each new installment.

And now for Day 15, #10 on the countdown is...

"All I Want For Christmas" from "Action Comics" #762 by Joe Kelly, German Garcia (man, did I love German Garcia's artwork. I thought he was going to become a superstar), Kano and Joe Rubinstein.

The concept for the issue is that Lois insists that Clark spends WAY too much effort on her presents, as he's always doing crazy stuff with his powers or trips to other worlds to bring her insane presents, like stones from the moon, heat vision carved diamonds, stuff like that. This year she wanted just a store bought present, so Clark finds himself in the mall for the first time in years and it is a mad house. Things get crazier when Etrigan the Demon shows up, taking over from the Mall's Santa.

Kelly basically uses the Demon's rhyming shtick to make him a stand-in for the Grinch. I love how Kelly has a lot of fun with rhyming, like when he actually uses the sound of Demon's flame breath to rhyme with something!

The issue guest-starred the minor villain that was introduced around this time, La Encantadora, who tried to seduce Etrigan, but he instead used her as part of a plan that involved giving the "gift" of letting everyone see themselves as they feel like deep inside. Obviously, people have a lot of insecurities, so it was not good (Lois had recently cut a deal with Lex Luthor, so she saw herself as having Lex on her back). Superman took in the mists that the Demon was using and it is cool to see how Superman sees himself...

It's a really sweet story. I especially like the bit at the end when La Encantadora bought her little brother a Superman cape. Awwwwww.
