Technical fixes and content additions have been added to Crysis Remastered on next-gen consoles.

Crysis' Reddit page added two update posts informing PlayStation and Xbox users about these changes for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Crytek's remastered game. In addition to receiving a new level titled 'Ascension,' the update fixes numerous bugs and crashes related to Sony and Microsoft's specific consoles and gives players the option to access protagonist Jake "Nomad" Dunn's Classic Nanosuit Controls.

In addition, both consoles will run the game at a Performance Mode of 1080p - 60 fps. The PS5 version of Crysis Remastered will have a 1080p Quality Mode compared to the Xbox's 2160p, albeit with Series S only running at 30 fps. RayTracing will also run 1080p at 60 fps for PS5, 1080p at 30 fps for Series S and 1440p at 60 fps for Series X.

Despite these changes, Crytek still acknowledged that Xbox and PlayStation players may have to deal with cases of 'input lag' while playing Crysis Remastered. In the Reddit post, they stated, "We have made improvements with this update and will continue to try to resolve this further."

Released in 2007, the original Crysis was Crytek's second major game release after 2004's Far Cry, the latter of which would be picked up by Ubisoft Montreal for subsequent franchise releases. Following Nomad as he battled both North Korean forces and hostile alien invaders, the game originally came out on PC but eventually received seventh-generation console ports for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Following the game's critical success, Crytek would go on to spawn two franchise sequels in 2011's Crysis 2 and 2013's Crysis 3, as well as the 2008 expansion pack Crysis Warhead.

Crysis Remastered initially released to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 18, 2020, with a Nintendo Switch port releasing July 23. The game currently holds a 69 critical rating on Metacritic.
