Earlier this year, Crunchyroll uploaded the first six minutes of the new anime series The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat online, and now, the streaming service has released the entire series premiere for fans to watch for free.
The episode, titled "Quantum of Trust," is available on Crunchyroll's official YouTube account and follows protagonist Lugh, the titular assassin, and his companions as they kill the corrupt nobles who are involved in a slave auction of young girls. It is currently unknown if the rest of the first season of The World's Finest Assassin will also be uploaded on YouTube for viewers to watch for free.
Rui Tsukiyo and Reia's original light novel series of the same name was first published in July 2018 on the user-generated publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō before it was acquired by Kadokawa Shoten and licensed by Yen Press for North American distribution. So far, the series has produced six volumes worth of content. The story of The World's Finest Assassin centers on Lugh Tuatha Dé, the heir to an aristocratic family who was a deadly assassin in a previous life. Brought to another world by a goddess, Lugh endeavors to live his new life to the fullest and use his skills, knowledge and experience from his past life to help others.
The anime adaptation of The World's Finest Assassin is a collaboration between Silver Link (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Wise Man's Grandchild) and Studio Palette (Deca-Dence). Masafumi Tamura (Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, The Misfit at Demon King Academy) is directing the anime with Katsuhiko Takayama (Miss Kuroitsu From the Monster Development Department) overseeing the series composition and Michi Takigawa (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Little Witch Academia) handling the editing.
The cast for the World's Finest Assassin includes many experienced and popular voice actors like Shino Shimoji (Selection Project, The Case Study of Vanitas), Reina Ueda (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) and Kenji Akabane (World Trigger, Komi Can't Communicate). An English dub of the series has already been confirmed and is scheduled to debut on Nov. 24. The cast includes Christian Banas (Pokémon Journeys: The Series) and Caitlin Glass (Fire Force, Mars Red).
The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat is premiering as a part of Crunchyroll's fall 2021 lineup alongside other new series like Platinum End, The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window, The Faraway Paladin and Build Divide -#00000 (Code Black)-.
