Due to unforeseen circumstances, the last anime seasonーSummer 2020ーhad many choices because of due dates being pushed ahead. Popular series such as Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon were instead pushed to the fall season, and others were new additions.

However, that didn't stop the Fall 2020 anime season from choosing most seasonal anime watchers must chooseーwhere to watch their anime. Crunchyroll and Funimation are both popular destinations to watch anime, but the question remainsーwhich has the best Fall 2020 catalog?

11 Funimation: Fantasy Utopia

Wandering Witch, The Day I Became God, By The Grace Of The Gods

Crunchyroll lacks fantasy and supernatural anime for its Fall 2020 lineup. On the other hand, Funimation has someーas well as isekaiーsuch as The Day I Became God, Wandering Witch, and By The Grace Of The Gods.

If fantasy is a must-watch, Funimation is the best option and has more than Crunchyroll's fall catalog.

10 Crunchyroll: Lots Of Choices

Noblesse, Sports Climbing Girls, Standing On A Million Lives

Despite not having as much fantasy as Funimation, Crunchyroll makes up for this with their overwhelming amount of choices for fall.

From girls climbing for their enjoyment in Sports Climbing Girls to a young man being transported to a game-like world in I'm Standing On A Million Lives, Crunchyroll has the upper hand when it comes to choice. It will probably be harder to choose one anime to watch over finding something at all.

9 Funimation: Simuldubs

Assault Lily, Magic High School, Our Last Crusade

Voice acting and dubbing as a whole was put on hold because of COVID19. This put some anime from Summer 2020 left with unfinished episodes and undubbed finals. However, things have slowly been going back to being dubbedーwith the voice actors being directed from home.

Simuldubs of Boquet Assault Lily and The Irregular at Magic High School have been released for fans who enjoy simuldubs. Although Crunchyroll had them as well, Funimation is the main company to handle dubs throughout the years.

8 Crunchyroll: Anticipated Anime

Burn The Witch, Fire Force 2, Golden Kamuy

Fall 2020 came with much-anticipated anime, both seasonal and long-time fans never thought they would receive, such as Tite Kubo's Burn the Witch and the second season of Fire Force. Both Funimation and Crunchyroll have the latter, but not the third season of Golden Kamuy.

With so many anticipated anime on one platform, some fans may think it's unnecessary to look at Funimation. Although that's not the case, some may be sold on the hype alone.

7 Funimation: Nostalgia

Higurashi New, Magic High School, Sleepy Princess

Both Higurashi: When They Cry New and The Irregular At Magic High School are from two very different periods in history and time. Though Higurashi is from the early 2000s, The Irregular At Magic High School is from the mid-2000s, and both carry a distinct aura to them that newer series do not contain.

Even a newer anime, Sleepy Demon Princess, caries somewhat of a laid-back feeling that may be harder for slice-of-life series to have. For anime fans who enjoy some nostalgia with their anime, Funimation has an overall better Fall 2020 lineup.

6 Crunchyroll: Queue Engagement

Crunchyroll Queue 2020

One of the complaints about Funimation is that the queue doesn't have the best navigation features.

This isn't limited to just one season; however, it is frustrating to find the newest updated episode or series in Funimation's queue. Sometimes, it can become quite confusing on the television application about where a certain series is or what has been updated.

5 Funimation: Sequels

Higurashi NEW, Yashahime, Dungeon Season 3

From Higurashi: When They Cry New, Yashahime, and Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon, there are plenty of anime sequels to watch on Funimation.

In fact, the Fall 2020 Funimation catalog has more sequels than Crunchyroll. This may give some fans the incentive to watch one over the other in the end.

Haikyuu, Jujutsu Kaisen, Tonikaku Kawaii

With Haikyuu returning for a third season, Jujutsu Kaisen becoming a clear hot-topic amongst shonen anime, and Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You giving fans a dose of sugar every week, Crunchyroll has the bag sealed when it comes to popular anime.

Despite there being a good amount of well-made anime on Funimation, there's no doubt Crunchyroll has more attention when it comes to clips and anime selection.

3 Funimation: Hidden Gems

Moriarty The Patriot, Akudama Drive, Talentless Nana Anime

Unfortunately, there are always a few hidden gems in a sea of anime each season. Anime such as Moriarty the Patriot, Akudama Drive, and Talentless Nana are great choices for Fall 2020 but are not well-known amongst others who do not have Funimation.

Funimation definitely wins in having more original and unique anime than Crunchyroll for the Fall 2020 season.

2 Crunchyroll: Genre Diversity

Shonen? Check. Idols? Yeah. Romance? Of course. Crunchyroll has many options not only when it comes to anime, but the genre as well.

Despite Funimation having some genre diversity, the overwhelming amount of anime it has over Funimation makes this stand out more.

1 Winner: Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll

Although Funimation has hidden gems such as Akudama Drive and Moriarty the Patriot, Crunchyroll has the majority popular and long-awaited anime of the fall season. To top it off, Crunchyroll also has more anime as a whole than Crunchyroll and an easier to navigate queue, making it the winner for the best Fall 2020 catalog.

Although overall, it's best to decide which has the best catalog on a person-by-person basis as everyone has different tastes. No matter which one someone chooses to watch anime on, both will surely fit a specific person.
