Crunchyroll's Mob Psycho 100 Heads to Theaters for One Night Only

The Season 2 premiere of the Crunchyroll anime series Mob Psycho 100 will be screened in movie theaters across the nation for one night only, courtesy of Fathom Events.

The anime streaming service has partnered with Fathom to produce four major screenings over the course of 2019. The first of these showings will be the second season premiere of Mob Psycho 100, along with a recap of Season 1 and a cameo from Setsuo Ito, who plays Shigeo Kageyama, aka Mob, the main character of the series.

The show centers around Mob, a 14-year-old boy with almost no emotions who tries to balance his life as a teenager with learning to control his emotionally-fueled supernatural powers. He ends up having to fight monsters who attack his home, as well as his occasional partner, the phony exorcist Reigen.

“We’re looking forward to working with Crunchyroll to put more of their films in front of cinema audiences,” Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said. “And [to] give the fanbase an opportunity to experience it together.”

Tickets go on sale later this week, and the screenings of the Season 2 premiere of Mob Psycho 100 will take place in over 500 theaters across the country on Jan. 5, 2019.
