One of the most popular web comics to come out of South Korea is the martial arts series The God of High School, and the anime adaptation is coming to the United States exclusively through Crunchyroll.

Released as part of the anime streaming platform's new wave of original programming, the upcoming series is based off the webtoon by Yongje Park. Crunchyroll has released the first official key art and trailer for the anime adaptation, slated to premiere this July through the premium streaming service.

The God of High School follows a teenage martial artist named Jin Mo-Ri from Seoul, who is invited to the eponymous, high-stakes martial arts tournament. The competition has a mysterious corporation pit high school students around South Korea against one another in hard-hitting combat, with the three finalists representing the country in an international fighting tournament.

Created by Park in 2011, the webtoon is still ongoing and has since been adapted into a popular mobile video game and remains one of WebToon's most acclaimed titles.
