As February 2021 wraps its penultimate week, the year is becoming increasingly stacked with upcoming films and television programming, particularly across digital streaming platforms. Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock and Shudder have all rolled out trailers and promos for their respective services, showing off footage from such offerings as Cruella and Mortal Kombat. And not to be outdone, Nintendo has unveiled its first Nintendo Direct presentation in months, providing a look at major video game releases for the Nintendo Switch this year.Here are all the biggest trailers, teasers and promos released the penultimate week of February 2021.
Batwoman
As Ryan Wilder continues to acclimate to her role as Batwoman, a familiar face from Kate Kane's past resurfaces as a bonafide supervillain in a new promo for the Arrowverse series. Wealthy playboy Evan Blake reveals himself to be the villainous Wolf Spider, with the antagonist taking on the Scarlet Knight.
Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton-Kane. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Creepshow
After production delays due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Creepshow Season 2 is finally premiering this April on Shudder. The debut trailer for the season teases even more bloody, monstrous mayhem, with nine scary stories slated to be included in the horror anthology series' second season. Ahead of the Season 2 premiere, Shudder announced it had officially renewed Creepshow for a third season, expected to premiere in 2021.
Developed for television by Greg Nicotero, Creepshow Season 2 premieres April 1 on Shudder and AMC+.
Cruella
One of Disney's most iconic villains is Cruella de Vil, who first menaced the big screen in the 1961 animated classic 101 Dalmatians. Academy Award winner Emma Stone stars as the fashion-obsessed antagonist in the live-action prequel film Cruella as a young grifter named Estella who is determined to make a name for herself in 1970s London's fashion scene. And as Estella begins to make inroads with a powerful fashionista, she finds the price to her coveted allure will come at a dark price.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, Cruella stars Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, Joel Fry and Emily Beecham. It is scheduled to release in theaters on May 28.
DOTA: Dragon's Blood
The popular online multiplayer game DOTA 2 is being adapted into an anime-inspired series on Netflix with DOTA: Dragon's Blood. Slated to premiere next month, the series has the Dragon Knight Davion stumble across a secret side to the kingdom he has sworn to defend, as ancient figures and the reigning regents embroiled in secret mission that will reverberate across the fantasy world.
With Ashley Edward Miller as showrunner and executive producer, and animation by MIR and Ryu Ki Hyun, DOTA: Dragon's Blood debuts March 25 on Netflix.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
After unveiling a new trailer on Super Bowl Sunday, Disney+ has released released a condensed version of the trailer in a new promo for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Teasing the friendly rivalry between Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as they work together to stop Baron Zemo's latest plot against the superhero community, the promo effectively debunks rumors that the upcoming series will contain more graphic action sequences than its main Marvel Cinematic Universe counterparts.
Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series premieres March 19 on Disney+.
Godzilla vs. Kong
The latest promo for Godzilla vs. Kong doubles down on the action, showcasing multiple clashes between the eponymous Titans around the world. From a battle straddling aircraft carriers in the middle of the Pacific Ocean to a neon-soaked showdown in the streets of Hong Kong, the upcoming film is slated to deliver the epic thrills. And with the debut trailer breaking viewership records for Warner Bros., audiences are hyped to see the kaiju throw down.
Directed by Adam Wingard and written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein, Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max March 31.
John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise
John Wayne Gacy is one of the most notorious serial killers in American history, having been linked to the murders of at least 33 men and boys in Illinois before his eventual conviction and execution. Gacy is the subject of a documentary miniseries on Peacock next month, John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise, featuring previously unseen interview footage of the murderer from 1992 while he was incarcerated and awaiting execution. Also included in the true crime documentary are additional interviews, home videos, news reports and footage from Gacy's fateful trial.
John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise is produced by NBC News Studios with Witchcraft Motion Picture Company's Rod Blackhurst, who also served as a producer for 2016's Amanda Knox. Alexa Danner, Elizabeth Fischer and Tracy Ullman also serve as executive producers alongside Blackhurst, while Alison True is an executive consultant. All six episodes of Devil in Disguise debut on Peacock on Thursday, March 25.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
After months of rumors, Nintendo confirmed it's developing an HD remaster of the 2011 Wii title The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. As part of the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise, the upcoming remaster allows players to choose between a traditional control scheme or refined motion controls using the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons as they defend Skyloft from an ancient evil.
Developed and published by Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD goes on sale July 16 for the Nintendo Switch.
Mortal Kombat
After being stuck for decades in development hell, a new live-action Mortal Kombat is finally coming this April, bringing the iconic fighting game franchise to the big screen and HBO Max. The debut trailer for the upcoming film has new character Cole Young join the familiar video game fighters as they enter a martial arts tournament to determine the fate of two worlds. And true to its video game source material, the movie does not pull its punches when it comes to delivering deliriously gory fatalities on the screen.

Star Wars Hunters
Free-to-play online action is coming to the Star Wars Universe on the Nintendo Switch this year in the newly announced Star Wars Hunters. Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the upcoming multiplayer game has players choose from a selection of distinct characters within that galaxy far, far away for squad-based battles. In addition to being free-to-download, Star Wars Hunters will also not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play.
Developed by Zynga and Lucasfilm Games, Star Wars: Hunters will release for the Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS sometime this year.
Walker
With its fifth episode, Walker is finally raising the stakes as the Texas Ranger's recent past comes back to haunt him. After his son August's reckless actions, Cordell is forced to go back undercover and revive his bank robber persona as he reunites with a bank robber. As Walker's colleagues react to the shocking development, the Texas Ranger's new partner Micki Ramirez quickly raises the stakes, threatening to overturn the entire operation.
Walker stars Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan and Coby Bell. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Young Rock
One of the most beloved superstars in the world is Dwayne Johnson and the professional-wrestler-turned-movie-star has his origins revealed in the new television series Young Rock. Johnson himself introduces the premise of the series in a new promo, including a sneak peek at the first season. Following the series premiere, critics have been impressed with the new show, and Johnson thanked audiences for Young Rock's success.
Created by Nahnatchka Khan and produced by Dwayne Johnson, Young Rock stars Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant and Uli Latukefu in the titular role with Stacey Leilua Ata and Joseph Lee Anderson as his parents Ata and Rocky. The series premieres Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
Zack Snyder's Justice League
After years of fan campaigns, audiences will finally get to see filmmaker Zack Snyder's finished version of Justice League next month, with a newly released trailer hinting at a significantly different story than the theatrical iteration of the movie released in 2017. As the Justice League, complete with a black-suited Superman, leap into action, the heroes take on a redesigned Steppenwolf and Darkseid for the fate of their world.
