With the cast of six different CW series along with a whole host of characters from past and future DC Comics adaptations coming together for the Arrowverse's "Crisis on Infinite Earths," the only thing with such a comparable scope is this year's Avengers: Endgame.

The television crossover event's showrunner and executive producer Marc Guggenheim has avoided making direct comparisons between the Arrowverse and Marvel Cinematic Universe respective crossovers but did admit that there is at least one similarity and one key difference, with the similarity relating to longtime Arrowverse protagonists Barry Allen and Oliver Queen.

"I’d say certainly for Barry and Oliver, there is an emotional denouement that is reminiscent of Endgame,” teased Guggenheim in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Endgame is an exclamation point. ‘Crisis’ is a semi-colon.”

Guggenheim did not divulge specifics one the scene between Barry and Oliver but both Arrowverse heroes have been heavily implied to meet ominous fates over the course of the Crisis. And, with the grammatical analogy, Guggenheim has hinted that while the MCU hit a celebratory, effusive end with Endgame, there is still a bigger future ahead for the Arrowverse following the Crisis.
