The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event concluded in January, but the crossover's showrunner reveals he's already discussing the next Arrowverse mega-event.

"Those conversations were had within weeks of us delivering the cuts," Marc Guggenheim told Fan Nerd Podcast, in reference to "Crisis." "[The CW president] Mark Pedowitz and I, we had a conversation shortly after we wrapped production, where I acknowledged that of course we're going to do a crossover, but he acknowledged that of course it can't be this big, because there is no topping it and there's no point in trying because we will only disappoint ourselves and, more importantly, we'll disappoint the fans."

"This was like about a month and a half ago, maybe two months ago. We had a big meeting, like we always do, with the studio and the network and we basically laid out what the game plan is for next season's crossover and how we're going to do things and some creative ideas, as well."

"Crisis" was the largest in scope of all Arrowverse crossovers to date, spanning across five series and referencing several others.

"I think returning the crossover to a manageable size, just telling a good, old-fashioned crossover story, is kind of what the doctor ordered -- and then, if we ever do something this big again, building up to it."
