The pages reveal a conversation between Superman and a powerful Kryptonian named Lon-El over the fate of Earth. Both the sequence and Lon-El were conspicuously absent from "Elseworlds." Instead, the assembled heroes would confront the Monitor and John Deegan, while Oliver Queen made a secret deal with the Monitor to save the Flash and Supergirl's lives.
