SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Crisis on Earth-X, Part 2," the second episode of this year's Arrowverse crossover.

Oliver Queen just popped the question to on-again, off-again lover interest Felicity Smoak -- again. In "Crisis on Earth-X," this year's Arrowverse, Oliver made a second attempt to marry Felicity, only for Felicity to turn him down.

Oliver posed the question during Barry and Iris' rehearsal dinner. He brought it up casually in conversation, without getting down on his knee to ask. "We should consider doing something along these lines," he said. When asked for clarification, he continued, "I mean, the friends and family, the crab cakes and toasts. Those lines."

"You mean you want to have a rehearsal dinner?" Felicity said, puzzled. "What, exactly, would we be rehearsing?"

"The thing that we would do the next day," he responded, without quite asking the question outright.

That's when it dawned on Felicity. "Did I have some of Cisco's 10,000% proof alcohol that he gives to Barry so that he can get drunk, or are you asking me to marry you?" she demanded to know.

"What if I was?" Oliver shot back. "That was silly. I am. I mean, I don't want to get down on a knee and make it overly formal because I'm a little bit sore from handling those ninjas, but Felicity Megan Smoak, will you marry me?"

"No," she responded through a tight-lipped smile. When he looked confused, she raised her voice a little. "No. I love our life. I love what we have. I love William... Let's just talk about this some other time."

He continued to push her on the topic. "We don't need a piece of paper to show each other that we love each other," she whispered. "I totally agree with that. This has nothing to do with any types of pieces of paper. This has to do with you and me taking the opportunity to get up in front of the people that we love to have the people that love us present and make a commitment to one another," he explained.

"And the commitment part is great! I'm so down for the commitment part. Super on it with that, but not the legal part," she jumped in.

When he continued to argue, she ended up yelling. "Oliver, I don't want to marry you!" she shouted for the whole room to hear. Everyone turned to look, and she clapped her hands over her mouth in horror when she realized what she had done. She then turned and left the room.

The couple had a better chance to talk about it in "Part 2," after Oliver confronted Tommy Merlyn's Prometheus. "I love you; I just don't want to be married," she explained. "I don't want to be married to anyone."

"You didn't feel that way when we got engaged two years ago," Oliver responded.

"Right, and then ten minutes later I got shot and paralyzed," she clarified. "Barry and Iris have a wedding, and Nazis crashed it... My point is we have something so good, we have something so great going. Let's not change that. Let's just stand back with the cards that we're holding."

"I want to move forward. Felicity, I love you, and I want to marry you," he reiterated. "I love you. I will always, always, always love you. Please respect me on this," she begged, to which he nodded and said, "Okay."

Later, Felicity went on to explain further during a conversation with Iris. "We are good! We're great. We're just as good as the last time we got engaged and I got shot," she said. "That was the beginning of the end for us. I don't want to tempt fate again."

Despite agreeing to drop the subject, Oliver wasn't quite over it either. "She told me she doesn't believe in marriage. I'm not feeling sorry for myself; I just think that if she loved me the way I loved her, she would want to marry me," he told Barry and Iris. Before he could delve into the topic, Felicity arrived to let them know they had found the Earth-X villains, which led to Oliver getting captured.

This year’s four-part crossover “Crisis on Earth-X” will air across two nights, beginning Monday, Nov. 27 with Supergirl and Arrow (on a special night for one week only) and concluding Tuesday, Nov. 28 with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
