Enter Spectre.

In a new poster for the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" finale, Oliver Queen returns, but he has become someone else -- something else: the Spectre. The poster, which dropped on Twitter, puts Oliver at its heart and center. The rest of the Arrowverse's heroes fan around him, with the Anti-Monitor looming above them like a grand puppet master.

Oliver, of course, died in "Part 1" of the five-show crossover. This immediately sent several of the other heroes -- including his daughter Mia Smoak, John Diggle and John Constantine -- on a mission to save his soul from purgatory. With a little help from Lucifer, they tracked him down, but they weren't the only ones. Detective Jim Corrigan also showed up and offered Oliver the chance to become the Spectre to save the multiverse as they know it. Oliver accepted without hesitation, but his transformation was never shown on screen. The poster offers a first look at the character in his new role.

Debuting in 1940's More Fun Comics #52, the Spectre was created by Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily. Three different incarnations of Corrigan have been bonded to the Spectre throughout the character's long history, but the Arrowverse adapted the one who played a key role in Marv Wolfman and George Pérez's Crisis on Infinite Earths. The Spectre ultimately convinced the surviving heroes and villains of the DC Universe to work together in an attempt to stop the Anti-Monitor from destroying the multiverse. He was even powerful enough to fight the Anti-Monitor.
