The CW's 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' special has united sections of the DC landscape both new and old. IN the case of Superman, it introduced Brandon Routh's Superman Returns Clark to Tyler Hoechlin's Supergirl Clark.

Routh opened up to Den of Geek about what it was like to work with Hoechlin and his take on Superman. The interviewer asked if Routh and Hoechlin "traded secrets" about what it was like to play The Man of Steel.

Routh replied, "Yeah, a little bit. We both have a different approach and our Superman and Clarks are different enough that I think there was no need to necessarily compare notes. I definitely applauded him and talked to him about how great I thought he was doing in all the past episodes that he played the character. We talked about the flying stuff because I had experience...and because all of that has changed, getting in and out of the suit, how much to dress down between shots and get comfortable if you can. That kind of stuff."

Brandon Routh initially played the character in 2006's Superman Returns. After that, the character didn't appear on film until 2013's Man of Steel, then portrayed by Henry Cavill. 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' marks Routh's first appearance as Superman in 13 years, allowing him to pick up the character where he left off, but with a Kingdom Come twist.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" will return after the winter hiatus. The crossover will conclude on Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Arrow at 8 p.m. ET/PT and in DC's Legends of Tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The Supergirl, Batwoman and Flash episodes are now available to stream on The CW.
