Thanks to the CW's 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' special, after 13 years, Brandon Routh finally got to suit up as Superman once again. The actor talked about what it was like to wear the costume again, and if he'd ever consider suiting up once more.

The actor recently sat down with Den of Geek to talk about his second outing as the Man of Steel. Apparently, when the CW called, Routh was hesitant. One of the reservations he had was a concern that the Crisis Superman wouldn't be the same one he was playing --or similar enough. "I wanted to make sure that ideally it was the same character from Superman Returns. And if not, that it was still the same idea of who Superman is, at his core. That was important to me. Because I wasn't necessarily interested in playing a different version," he said.

After some consideration, Routh agreed to play the role again. Getting closure was important for him, and a big reason he took up the Super-mantle again. When asked if he would like to return to the role after Crisis, he said, "That's one of the things I had to get off the phone with Marc and consider and think about. Because if I continued to leave the door open and keep wanting more, then I was never going to be fulfilled, and that wasn't a place I wanted to leave things. So I approached this as, no matter how much screen time I had or whatever this story ends up being, I'm grateful for this opportunity and I'm going to be okay with whatever this is."

Routh added, "the unresolved stuff after Superman Returns is resolved and the door is closed, but...if the door opened again, I'm open to it. I'm good, I'm at peace with it, but I am still excited to play the character if another opportunity that is right presents itself."

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" will return after the winter hiatus. The crossover will conclude on Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Arrow at 8 p.m. ET/PT and in DC's Legends of Tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The Supergirl, Batwoman and Flash episodes are now available to stream on The CW.
