To help promote the new season of Creepshow on Shudder, AMC will air the first season of the show. Both Shudder and AMC are owned by the media company AMC Networks International.

"We think that [Creepshow] will be successful on AMC but will also then build audiences for the season two launch back on Shudder," COO of AMC Ed Carroll said in a statment.

Creepshow is a horror anthology series that serves as a continuation of the first two Creepshow movies from 1982 and 1987, which involved horror icons Stephen King and George Romero. It is also the first entry for the franchise since 2007's Creepshow 3, which got a chilly reception as it lacked any involvement from King or Romero and jettisoned the nostalgic EC Comics motif from the first two movies.

Meanwhile, Creepshow the television series has already proved to be a critical and audience success. True to the first two movies' involvement with horror all-stars, the first season of Creepshow had episodes written by or based on stories by Stephen King and other big names from the horror genre. The season also starred actors notable for their work in horror films and TV series like Adrienne Barbeau, Jeffrey Combs, Tobin Bell, David Arquette and Big Boi.

This will not be the first time AMC followed such a strategy to entice AMC viewers to Shudder. In 2019, AMC aired the first season of the vampire drama NOS4A2 on AMC before airing the entire season on Shudder.

The second season of Creepshow is set to premiere on Shudder, and AMC will air the first season later this year. A premiere date has yet to be announced.
