Dungeons Masters looking to up their game and add creatures to their Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition game should look no further than Studio Agate's Kickstarter, ending on October 2nd. The French company has a solid record of producing incredible fantasy RPG content, and Creatures should be another epic entry.

Studio Agate is an award-winning fantasy world-building company. Their game Shadows of Esteren is one of France's most awarded RPGs, and they work with some of today's top artists.  With just over a day remaining, it's no surprise that Creatures has blown past every goal they've set.

Dragons battle over a town.

At its core, Creatures is a monster folio, a book full of new creatures to add into an existing 5e game. The book will be 400 full-color pages that include playable species, monsters and adversaries. It also contains new modularity rules to help customize creatures to a particular tone or setting and archetypes to allow DMs to create completely unique monsters.

The risk for entry into this Kickstarter is already low. Creatures has blown past every stretch goal and is approaching $500,000 in pledges.  Unlocked goals include an art book by Chane, a premier fantasy artist, printed lairs for certain creatures, and even some creature pawns. With that kind of added value, many players have found good reason to pledge.

Many Kickstarters have long waits before delivery, but Studio Agate expects to begin delivery in February 2021, just four months out. Players looking for even more bang for their buck can jump to the Collector level and receive two core books for the Fateforge RPG, Studio Agate's newest fantasy world based on the 5e ruleset. And for those concerned about the environment, Studio Agate has committed to creating an FSC certified product with sustainable distribution.

A massive tarrasque threatens heroes.

Fateforge, initially released in 2019, has a dark, gritty Euro-horror feel. The core book and a spell grimoire are already available, so Creatures is the next contribution to the growing world of Eana, a sword and sorcery setting. Wizards of the Coast currently offers nothing quite like the tone and feel of Fateforge, and fans are clearly pleased with what they're seeing.

In all, the Kickstarter is an excellent way to round out a campaign with the addition of creatures most players haven't seen before while adding the ability to customize creatures and add entirely new ones. With so many third-party 5e products out there, it can be challenging to find the most worthwhile ones to support, but fans can rest assured the Studio Agate, an established and growing company, will deliver outstanding content yet again.
