Mulder and Scully may be returning home in more ways than one.
Devotees will recall the standalone Season 4 episode, which marked the return of writers Glen Morgan and James Wong, brought Mulder and Scully (stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) to Home, Pennsylvania, to investigate the death of an infant with severe birth defects. There they discover the inbred Peacock clan, which hasn't left its isolated farm in decades. We'll just leave it at that ...
While the title "Home Again" isn't exactly proof of a connection, TVLine offers up more evidence: The new episode is also written by Morgan, it too will air as the second episode of the season (well, such that it is), and it arrives nearly 20 years after the original.
The website also throws in the name of "Home Again's" Monster of the Week, which instead of strengthening the case may weaken it: the intimidating, creepy and immeasurably strong "Band-Aid Nose Man," who's described as "a powerful, violent and frightening 'thought' come to life."
We'll know for sure when the second episode of the "X-Files" revival airs Jan. 25 on Fox.
