Marvel's Hulk is one of the most powerful heroes in his universe -- regularly held up as a devastating force. But the DC Universe is also full of major powerhouses who could give him a run for his money, such as Superman -- who actually defeated Hulk when they came up against each other in Marvel vs. DC.

But could other, sillier versions of the DC icon stand a chance of defeating Marvel's Jade Giant, too? For instance, would DC's silliest Superman, Captain Carrot, actually be able to defeat the Hulk in a one-on-one fight? Let's find out.

WHO IS CAPTAIN CARROT?

Captain Carrot is the leader of the Zoo Crew, a team of anthropomorphic animal superheroes hailing from an extremely cartooney version of the DC Universe. Fulfilling a similar role to Spider-Ham's corner of the Marvel multiverse, the Zoo Crew are their world's greatest protectors; originally considered to be from Earth-C, the modern version of the characters hail from Earth-26. Roger Rodney Rabbit is the secret identity of Captain Carrot, nominally a normal comic book artist in Gnu York who consumes a cosmic carrot to gain incredible powers for 24 hours. On top of that, his origin on an inherently silly reality means he also possesses certain cartoonish abilities, such as the power to shake off a massive hit or fix his body with ease.

While the power limit may have a 24-hour time limit (and extreme exertion can make the transformation even shorter), the sheer scale of his powers makes Captain Carrot an easy Superman stand-in for his world. Captain Carrot and his allies briefly ended up in the Post-Flashpoint DC Universe and transformed into regular animals, until they were restored by the events of Final Crisis. Captain Carrot was among the first heroes called to the House of Heroes in The Multiversity and quickly threw himself into his new work protecting the multiverse -- even serving alongside the other members of the multiversal team, Justice Incarnate.

CAPTAIN CARROT VS. THE HULK - WHO WINS?

In The Multiversity #1, Captain Carrot is among the group of heroes that are trying to make their way to Earth-7 to confront the Gentry that largely wiped out the world. Instead, they land on Earth-8, which is full of pastiches of classic Marvel Comics heroes. This includes The Brute, an obvious stand-in for The Incredible Hulk. While trying to deescalate a potential conflict between the two hero teams, The Brute lashes out at Captain Carrot and seems to crush him with a massive blow. But Captain Carrot is unaffected by the hit, springing back to normal and knocking out Brute with a quick hit to the face. He even later loses his head and is largely unaffected -- only concerned that his cosmic carrot powers could wear off before his head is reattached, which might actually kill him.

It proves that Captain Carrot is plenty powerful and durable, but would he be so lucky against actual Hulk? The Hulk has easily knocked out Gods when sufficiently enraged, such as his recent battles against the Avengers. The cartoon physics of Captain Carrot might give him a surprising edge in a fight with the Hulk, providing him the ability to shake off attacks that would otherwise incapacitate almost any other hero. But it would likely come with the negative side effect of just making Hulk angrier and angrier as he failed to leave any lasting damage on the silly superhero, only making the Hulk stronger and stronger as a result.

The question then becomes whether or not Captain Carrot is strong enough to actually put down the Hulk. While Captain Carrot is plenty powerful (shown fighting alongside Superman and other heroes, even when he's had his head removed from his shoulders by a well-aimed laser blast), The Hulk has been shown regenerating from likewise devastating attacks -- especially the Devil Hulk from the still-running Immortal Hulk. While other versions of The Hulk might be whittled down by the hero, Devil Hulk would likely be able to shake off anything Captain Carrot threw at him. Devil Hulk is also potentially smart enough to see the importance of the cosmic carrots, and plan around it.

This would likely be where the biggest deciding factor in any fight between the two would come to play: Captain Carrot's cosmic carrots are the source of Captain Carrot's power. Deprived of them, he'd quickly lose his strength. If the Devil Hulk was to discover this, he would likely go about incapacitating the cartoon character as he was in Multiversity. And unlike that story -- where Mr. Stubbs was able to save Captain Carrot by rejoining his head with his body in time to eat a carrot -- Devil Hulk would likely be able to isolate Captain Carrot.

Cartoon physics might be the only thing that can save Captain Carrot in a real battle against the real Hulk and, if they're tied to the carrots, even those might not last forever against the current version of The Hulk.
