Even as Fox announces a title and release date for the fifth installment in the Die Hard series, the studio is starting the search for a young actor to play John McClane's son -- and potentially inherit the action franchise.
Citing "multiple sources," Variety reports that Bruce Willis soon will begin reading with contenders for the role in the John Moore-directed A Good Day to Die Hard.
While details are scant, it's known that Skip Woods' script sends McClane to Russia, where his estranged son is caught up in a daring prison escape of a rogue political leader. Production is set to begin sometime next year for a Valentine's Day 2013 release.
According to the trade paper, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul is said to be on an apparently long list that includes Paul Dano, who appears with Willis in Looper, and Ben Foster, who worked with Willis in Alpha Dog. Fox, for its part, has denied the names cited, calling the report "all misinformation and incorrect."
