In the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that's sweeping the globe, the flagship streaming giant Netflix is ceasing production on virtually all its content in the United States and Canada."JUST IN: Netflix is halting production on all scripted TV series and films in the US and Canada for at least two weeks, two people briefed on the plans tell me," The New York Times' John Koblin tweeted. "This will affect dozens of shows/movies."

Until now, streaming seemed as though it was one of the very few things immune to the path coronavirus is currently carving through the entertainment industry. On the theatrical side, countless films have shut down production or suspended release dates, while a number of theaters across the globe have closed their doors altogether. Similarly, the small screen has seen casts and crews from many popular television shows sent home as the pandemic continues to spread.

Sports aren't safe either. In fact, the XFL, NBA, NHL and MLB have all either suspended or delayed their current or upcoming seasons, and the NCAA's wildly popular March Madness tournament has been canceled.
