Coppola's On The Road Grabs Viggo, Adams, Dunst

Francis Ford Coppola's dream project - a movie adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic American novel On The Road - is about to become a reality, and the cast announced so far is making it seem like it'll be a dream to watch, as well.

Coppola has spent 30 years trying to bring the novel to screen, and may have finally succeeded; he's producing a new adaptation directed by The Motorcycle Diaries' Walter Salles (The script is from Salles' Motorcycle partner, Jose Rivera) that has an impressive cast list. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that casting for the movie includes Viggo Mortensen as William Burroughs analog Old Bull Lee and Amy Adams as his wife Jane, as well as Kirsten Dunst, Twilight's Kristen Stewart and Tron: Legacy's Garrett Hedlund.

The movie starts production today.
