When it comes to tropes in just about anything, cyborgs are always near the top of the charts in terms of awesome factor. These humans turned robots are almost always a spectacle no matter the series they're introduced in, making it rather easy for them to always end up being fan-favorite characters.

In anime, cyborgs take many shapes and forms but there will always be a few that are better than others. Depending on the series, their feats and abilities can put them on top. However, no matter these feats it always seems that these cyborgs end up taking the hearts of fans everywhere.

10 Stroheim (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

Rudol von Stroheim is a character that completely stole the show in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency. This Nazi Germany man-made instrument of mass destruction is one character no one expected to love so much.

The best part about Stroheim is the pure absurdity of his cyborg look. Unlike most cyborgs, he simply is equipped with a giant gun in his torso full of tonnes of bullets.

It's impossible to bring up the coolest cyborgs out there without bringing up Saitama's sidekick Genos. This hero dubbed "Demon Cyborg" is easily one of the most badass around, sporting some crazy abilities including his giant beam.

The one thing holding him back is the fact that someway or another he always ends up dismantled somehow and waiting for his teacher to come and pick up the pieces so he can get repaired and do it all again.

Kikuchiyo is one of the more underrated cyborgs in the anime realm. Samurai 7 introduced this character as a clumsy wannabe samurai who eventually proves his worth and is accepted into the main group of heroes as the seventh legendary samurai.

His robot body allows him to carry the largest sword of the bunch which acts as a chainsaw. He truly becomes one of the best cyborgs when he meets his end, dying protecting the young Kanna and showing that he is worthy of the samurai title.

7 Android 18 (Dragon Ball)

Android 18's name actually deceives many fans of the Dragon Ball series, as she was once a human named Lazuli which makes her a cyborg. Before her life as a superpowered cyborg, she was a normal human until taken by Gero and experimented on.

Android 18 is arguably one of the most popular and well-known cyborgs in anime and undoubtedly one of the most powerful. She is also one of the most well-written in the eyes of many fans of the series, having many great moments both in and outside of battle.

Jet is one of the more down-to-Earth cyborgs in anime, being a man that lost his limbs and replaced them with robotic prosthetics and giving himself superhuman strength.

Jet's one of the cyborgs that show that the metal doesn't make the man, as he's more well known for his personality and brains than his cyborg enhancements. Those traits are what make him Spike's preferred partner in Cowboy Bebop.

Cyborg 009 is one of the oldest cyborgs in the manga and anime medium, making him an integral part of the list. He has abilities such as super strength, increased durability, and super speed.

This hero is one of the most iconic cyborgs in any medium and is not to be underlooked.

4 Franky (One Piece)

"Iron man" Franky is yet another cyborg that holds a great place in the pantheon of anime cyborgs. Franky is the shipwright of none other than the best pirate crew out there, the Straw Hat Pirates of One Piece.

He began with having simply an armored body concealed with realistic prosthetic limbs. After the time skip, however, he gained actual metal arms and legs, sporting a more cyborg look. His power isn't to be looked down upon despite his goofy demeanor.

3 Gally (Alita Battle Angel)

Gally, Yoko, Alita, no matter what you call her, Alita is easily one of the most badass anime cyborgs out there and anyone familiar with her series Alita Battle Angel can attest to such a claim.

Her abilities make her a dangerous target and her personality is one of the most enjoyable of all cyborgs and characters in general of the medium.

There is no way to talk about the best cyborgs in anime or manga without bringing up one of the most popular in the mediums, Motoko Kusanagi, many times just called Major.

This cyborg may not have the abilities stronger ones have but she does have style none of them can touch not only in terms of her various outfits but her fighting style as well. Not to mention she has one of the best stories of any of them.

Inuyashiki has some awesome abilities, an awesome story, and he is one of the most unique anime protagonists out there.

One thing setting apart Inuyashiki from the rest is his age and his predicament before becoming a super-powered cyborg. Due to Inuyashiki being a newer anime not much will be said about him, but for anyone interested in one of the best cyborg stories out there this anime is highly recommended.
