Official Press Release
COOL BEANS WORLD, the pioneering multimedia comics portal, is proud to announce the Comic Creator 2002 competition.
Running until March 2002, Cool Beans World is offering budding creative talents the chance to have their work evaluated and published alongside the legendary names at Cool Beans World - already home to Simon Bisley, Pat Mills, . Entrants will be asked to produce a comic-based story, taken from an original synopsis for Ian Edginton's "Dark Frankenstein" horror mystery. Entries will be accepted in any format, from traditional pencils and inks, all the way up to Flash animation. Entries will also be accepted from teams of writers and artists, as well as individuals. People interested in the competition can even register their interest at www.coolbeansworld.com and receive advice and tips via e-mail from some of the biggest names in the industry.
The entries will be judged by Dark Frankenstein creators, Ian Edginton (writer - Planet Of The Apes, Aliens vs Predator, Scarlet Traces) and Simon Davis (artist - Sinister Dexter, 2000AD), and the winning entry will be published on the Cool Beans World site, giving the creative team much needed exposure and the chance of further work in the comics industry.
"Cool Beans World is proud to produce new work from established writers and artists, but we're also determined to seek out fresh talent, and expand the comics field to include animators and other artists who have been looking for a way in", explained Dan Whitehead, Cool Beans marketing manager, "We've left the competition storyline deliberately open, so all the budding writers and artists can really let their imaginations run wild!".
Cool Beans World is pioneering the subscription-based model for online comic distribution. However, the Comic Creator competition is also available to non-subscribers via the "Sneak Peek" link on Cool Beans World's main page.
