Last week, failed negotiations between Disney and Sony resulted in Spider-Man leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a result, Philadelphia's Keystone Comic Con prohibited attendees from asking Tom Holland, the former MCU Spider-Man, any questions regarding the split, with contract discussions as the alleged reason.According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Keystone Comic Con announced to the 2,000 fans in attendance that questions regarding the recent falling-out between Disney and Sony were forbidden from Holland's panel due to the fact “it might mess up any contract discussions that will be announced within the next few days." Holland commented it was "a bit of a shock," that he had starred in five movies and will continue to play Spidey.One fan, Nicole Emma, tweeted her annoyance regarding the announcement and said she couldn't remember a Comic Con where audience members were forbidden to ask about a certain topic.

"It was kind of odd to be told not to ask about it, but then have them ask it in the interview,” Emma stated. “The answer he gave was so scripted, I think they’re still working on it. It was almost literally word for word what he said at D23.”

The news of the rift between Sony and Disney came not long after Sony announced its final collaboration with Marvel Studios, Spider-Man: Far From Home, was expected to be the company’s highest-grossing film of all time.
