Constance Zimmer Joins "Agents of SHIELD" in Recurring Role

"UnREAL" star Constance Zimmer has signed on for a recurring role in the upcoming third season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

According to Entertainment Weekly, Zimmer will play an as-of-yet unnamed antagonist for Director Coulson (Clark Gregg). Following the events of the season two season finale, which revealed that Terrigen had gotten into the general population, Zimmer's character will hunt down new Inhumans for a mysterious new government organization. The character will debut in the season three premiere.

Recently, the show announced that it would follow the "Secret Warriors" storyline by Brian Michael Bendis, Alex Maleev, Jonathan Hickman and Stefano Caselli, the series from which the show draws a lot of influence. In that series, Daisy Johnson (which is Skye's birth name) leads a sleeper team of superpowered peers called a caterpillar team. After Terrigen was exposed to the general population at the end of "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" second season, it seems as though Skye will get her own sleeper super team in the show -- something that was teased when Coulson handed her a blue folder labeled "Caterpillar" in the season finale.

Starring Gregg, Chloe Bennet and Ming-Na Wen, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season three premieres Tuesday, September 29 at 9 pm EST on ABC.
