Entertainment Weekly's upcoming cover story on "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will be packed with information. We know that's true because even just the teaser article for the feature piece is packed with info. The biggest piece of information? Confirmation that Darth Vader will have a part to play in the film.

The magazine's "Rogue One" cover touts "Darth Vader is back!" and the story itself will have details about what the Sith Lord's first day on set was like. But that's not all: the article also confirms that Mads Mikkelsen is playing Jyn Erso's father and reveals that the character is a scientist whose knowledge is "sought by both sides." Alan Tudyk will play a droid via motion-capture, and Ben Mendelsohn is playing an Imperial -- even if he won't admit it. There's also the hint that one of the characters in the ensemble is a character "Star Wars" fans have seen before -- although who they are has yet to be officially revealed.

You can check out the cover -- which contains new vehicles AT-ACTs and TIE Strikers -- below.

Set outside of the main sequel trilogy that began with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Rogue One” is set just before 1977’s “Star Wars” and details the Rebel plot to steal the Death Star plans from the Empire. Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) from a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, “Rogue One” stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens December 16.
