SEGA and Relic Entertainment dropped the first trailer for Company of Heroes 3, which focuses on the Mediterranean front during World War 2.

The cinematic trailer focuses on a group of American soldiers deployed to a Nazi-occupied town in Italy in 1943. The pre-alpha gameplay footage will look familiar to anyone who's played Company of Heroes. Players will assume a top-down view of the battle as they strategically order troops to secure command points. Ambushes and base-building make a return, as well as unique power-ups, including air and mortar strikes.

Company of Heroes 3 will include the biggest single-player campaign the series has yet seen. Some of the franchises' more iconic mechanics, such as TrueSight, have been expanded and improved. Air and naval combat will also play a significant role in Company of Heroes 3, more so than in previous entries.

In terms of factions, the two confirmed forces include the British and American armies. Players will need to look after the residents of Italy, who will assist in their battle against the occupying German forces by providing information on enemy fortifications and strategies.
