'Community's' Danny Pudi to Star in NBC's 'Strange Calls'

The actor will return to NBC to play a police officer transferred to a rural town that's more than it seems.

"Community" star Danny Pudi will head back to NBC for the comedy pilot "Strange Calls," Deadline reports.

Adapted by Blake McCormick ("Cougar Town") from the Australian comedy of the same name, "Strange Calls" stars Pudi as a down-on-his-luck police officer who's transferred to a rural town, which he soon realizes has a bizarre supernatural underbelly.

Australian actor Patrick Brammall will reprise his role as Sgt. Lloyd from the original series.Pudi will next be seen March 17, when "Community" premieres its sixth season on Yahoo Screen.
