From here on out, we shall forever know Oct. 19 at Community Day.

No, Community will not be making its fourth-season debut on NBC tonight. But, as explained by Danny Pudi and Donald Glover in a new promo for the show, Oct. 19 isn't an actual date, but rather a state of mind.

"Even though the powers-that-be agreed to put the premiere on Oct. 19, they couldn't decide where to put Oct. 19," Pudi's character Abed explains in the above video.

Glover's Troy continues, "Should it be in the fall? Should it be in the spring?"

"You see, they explained to us that Oct. 19 isn't just a date, it's a state of mind," Abed concludes, saying the date is actually "a feeling within us all."

That's why, according to Troy and Abed in the Morning logic, Oct. 19 is actually every time a kitten tries to climb into a cardboard box or a stranger reaches out his hand to another stranger and says, "Hello, brother." Even the Fourth of July is actually Oct. 19.

Goodness, but we miss Community.

The truth is, there's no set return date for the cult comedy show. NBC took it off its fall schedule only 10 days before it was supposed to air. At the time, the network said they were delaying the return of Community and Whitney so it can focus on its fall line-up, though it has since been announced that Whitney will replace the now-canceled Animal Practice.

“Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks — including winning the first week of the season in adults 18-49 — we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold Community and Whitney from their previously announced premieres of Oct. 19,” the network said in a statement. “Without having to launch these comedies on Friday at this time, we can keep our promotion focused on earlier in the week; plus, we will have both comedies in our back pocket if we need to make any schedule changes on those nights. When we have a better idea of viewing patterns in the next few weeks, we will announce new season premieres of Whitney and Community.”

So stay tuned for Community, airing ... some day on NBC.
