An episode of Community has been removed from Netflix due to its depiction of blackface.

The Season 2 episode "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" will no longer be available to stream on Netflix, according to The Wrap. Originally airing in February 2011, this episode features Ben Chang (Ken Jeong) wearing dark face makeup to a game of Dungeons & Dragons, in what the character declares to be an attempt to dress like a dark elf or a drow.

The decision to pull this episode stems entirely from Netflix and not at the behest of either the studio behind Community, Sony Pictures Television nor the show's own crew. "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" is currently still available to watch on the Hulu streaming service.

In recent weeks, a number of sitcoms have seen episodes featuring depictions of blackface pulled from various streaming services. This move has come as a result of Black Lives Matters protests spurring media companies to reevaluate their practices. Other shows that have seen episodes with blackface removed from streaming services include It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Scrubs and 30 Rock.

Community premiered on September 17, 2009. The show aired 110 episodes over six seasons and secured a devoted fanbase, though it frequently struggled in the ratings.

Created by Dan Harmon, Community starred Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Ken Jeong, Chevy Chase and Jim Rash. Community is currently streaming on Netflix and Hulu.
