A proposed LEGO set based on the hit comedy series Community is one step closer to becoming a reality.

"From epic paintball battles and pillow forts, to Kentucky-Fried spaceships and everything else in between, celebrate your love for the hit series Community with this play set based on Greendale Community College!" reads the official description for "Community," a LEGO Ideas project by bulldoozer that recently crossed the 10,000 supporter threshold in October 2022. The project, which contains numerous hidden Easter eggs and callbacks to beloved Community episodes, joins 35 other LEGO Ideas submissions that reached 10K supporters and are now up for consideration to become future LEGO sets. LEGO is expected to announce which of the 36 projects will become official sets in the summer of 2023.

Created by Dan Harmon, Community ran from September 2009 to June 2015, airing 110 episodes across six seasons. The series revolved around a study group at a fictional community college in Greendale, Colorado, which consisted of Joel McHale's Jeff Winger, Chevy Chase's Pierce Hawthorne, Gillian Jacobs' Britta Perry, Danny Pudi's Abed Nadir, Yvette Nicole Brown's Shirley Bennett, Alison Brie's Annie Edison and Donald Glover as Troy Barnes. Ken Jeong and Jim Rash rounded out Community's main cast as Ben Chang and Craig Pelton, respectively.

Six Seasons and a Movie

After the series concluded in 2015, Community fans began to campaign online for a follow-up movie, using the hashtag #SixSeasonsAndAMovie as a rallying cry. Seven years later, in September 2022, Peacock announced a Community movie, with McHale, Pudi, Brie, Jacobs, Rash and Jeong all set to return. Harmon and Andrew Guest will serve as executive producers and writers on the Community movie, with McHale also acting as an executive producer along with Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster. Although absent from the initial announcement, Glover and Brown are also expected to reprise their roles in the film.

"'Six seasons and a movie' started out as a cheeky line from Community’s early seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy," said Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming in a statement. "We’re incredibly grateful that 15 years later, we are able to deliver fans this promised movie and can’t wait to get to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, Sony and our partners at UTV to continue this epic comedy for Peacock audiences."

At this time, the plot of the Community film remains shrouded in mystery, although Harmon has confirmed the upcoming continuation won't involve paintball or Dungeons & Dragons. The cast has also been left in the dark for the time being, with Pudi remarking, "I haven't read anything yet, but we've all been texting and communicating. We're pumped and really looking forward to doing it. So we'll see. We'll see very soon, hopefully."

All six seasons of Community are available to stream on Peacock, Netflix or Hulu. A release date for the upcoming film has not been announced at this time.
