Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo, who's also co-directed episodes of NBC's Community, shared his opinion on a potential film based on the sitcom.

"We’d certainly be willing to do it. We love our Community family," Russo told Collider. "That cast, we’re all still very close to all of them. It’d certainly be schedule-depending for us. But I believe there will be a Community movie, especially now that it’s doing so well on streaming. Someone like Netflix could step up and make that movie."

Community fans have long been calling for a film based on the series, often using the saying. "Six Seasons and a Movie." Following its cancellation on NBC after Season 5, Community released its sixth season on Yahoo! Screen. All seasons of the series were recently dropped on Netflix, as well, promoting even more calls for a film.

While no official plans for a Community film have been released, star Joel McHale recently shared that he believes a movie is coming.

Joe Russo, along with brother Anthony, has directed several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The directors are also producing an upcoming Netflix film starring Chris Hemsworth titled Extraction.
