Community and GLOW star Alison Brie wants MCU fans to cast her as a villain in an upcoming Marvel property.

Brie was asked by ComicBook.com if there were any potential Marvel characters she'd want to play in the MCU. "Nothing specifically that I have set my sights on, no, and I think that would be a mistake, because clearly you can't really dictate," Brie answered. "Marvel's going to do their thing, as they should. I think there's a fantasy deep in my mind that one day I would get to play a great Marvel villain, but I don't know which one that would be. People, fans, send me some ideas so I can start the campaign."

The topic of the Community actor joining the MCU has returned to the public consciousness in the lead-up to the release of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. In early 2020, it was reported that Marvel Studios was looking to cast an "Alison Brie-type" actor for the role of Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, a rumor that Brie described as being an "interesting" possibility. Despite a heavy push from fans to see Brie take on the role, Marvel apparently determined Brie wasn't enough of an "Alison Brie-type" and instead cast Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany as the lead in She-Hulk.

Will Alison Brie Join the MCU?

If Brie and Marvel Studios were to ever work together on an upcoming project, she would be far from the first Community alum to contribute to the MCU. Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed four total Marvel films, including Avengers: Endgame, were hired to direct Captain America: The Winter Solider thanks to their work directing Community. Several of Brie's castmates from the NBC sitcom have made cameo appearances in the Russo brothers' MCU films as a result, including Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash. Additionally, Donald Glover portrayed Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Ludwig Göransson, Community's composer and a longtime collaborator of Glover, even won an Academy Award for his work composing Black Panther.

While she's yet to appear in the live-action MCU, Brie will provide a voice for the upcoming animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur on Disney+. Given that, it's not hard to imagine her making the jump to the larger superhero universe.

Although Brie's portrayal of She-Hulk wasn't meant to be, it likely was for the best that the studio went with Maslany. Early reactions to She-Hulk have already declared the series as one of Marvel's best on Disney+, with one reviewer even describing Maslany's performance of the character "an absolute revelation." Many reviews have also complimented the comedy series' sense of humor and tone.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premieres Aug. 18 on Disney+. Community and GLOW are available to stream on Netflix.
