The Born Again title of the series references one of Daredevil’s greatest comic storylines. Fans will already get a chance to see an adaptation of the celebrated “Parts of a Whole” in the upcoming Echo series. There are a number of other comic storylines that fans are hoping to see adapted for the new Daredevil series that could further explore the character in the MCU.

Fans weren’t that surprised to see the long-rumored appearance of Daredevil in a trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law. However, it was surprising to see Daredevil wearing a version of his original red and yellow comic costume. The classic throwback could tease a further exploration into Matt Murdock’s origins with an adaptation of Daredevil: Yellow.

Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale brought their celebrated work to Marvel for a series of origin stories that became known as the “Color” series. Daredevil: Yellow was a reimagined look at Matt Murdock’s origins and his debut in his earliest costume. It is fondly remembered as one of the best comics with art by Tim Sale.

9 Bullseye’s Return In “Gang War” Would Serve As A Great Follow-Up To The Netflix Series

The cancellation of the original three-season Netflix series crushed some fans of Daredevil. The series ended with the tease of a fully-realized version of one of Daredevil’s best villains, Bullseye. Fans are hoping to see Wilson Bethel return as Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again. The “Gangwar” storyline would follow up the events of Daredevil’s third season perfectly.

Frank Miller’s story saw The Kingpin drawn out of hiding after the kidnapping and apparent murder of Vanessa Fisk. He started the titular gang war while Bullseye returned to get his vengeance on Daredevil. The storyline further explored Bullseye’s unique murderous rages and featured a great dive into Wilson Fisk that will further satisfy fans of Netflix’s Daredevil.

Jr took over Daredevil after the celebrated run by Frank Miller and quickly left their mark on the character. “A Touch of Typhoid” saw Kingpin hire a new assassin named Typhoid Mary to work her way into Matt Murdock’s life. Typhoid Mary had multiple personalities who each wielded powerful abilities due to her Disassociative Identity Disorder.

She attracted Matt Murdock with her sweet and innocent Mary personality, though attacked him with her Typhoid and Bloody Mary alters. Tyhpoifd Amruy had powerful psionic abilities like telepathy and telekinesis, though she also controlled a fiery pyrokinetic ability as well. Daredevil: Born Again could succeed with the introduction of a complex villain like Typhoid Mary.

7 “Guardian Devil” Challenged Daredevil’s Religious Faith With Two Traumatic Deaths

Kevin Smith and Joe Quesada reinvigorated the Man Without Fear under the Marvel Knights publishing line. The “Guardian Devil” story arc challenged Matt Murdock’s Catholic faith when he suddenly became the protector of a young baby. The child was allegedly prophesied to either be a reincarnated messiah or the antichrist.

One of Daredevil's best love interests returned only to meet her violent end at the hands of Bullseye. “Guardian Devil” also featured a shocking twist ending that revealed a game of smoke and mirrors constructed by Mysterio. While the character appeared to die in the MCU, he could always make his return for a new climactic ending on Daredevil: Born Again.

6 Daredevil Formed His Own Team Of Vigilantes To Take Down Punisher In Marvel Knights

While Daredevil isn’t really a team player in the comics, he once assembled his own group of street-level heroes. Marvel Knights saw Daredevil work with heroes like Black Widow, Luke Cage, Shang-Chi, Dagger, and Moon Knight. They initially formed to take down The Punisher, though he later teamed with them to stop a larger threat as well.

Daredevil’s unofficial Marvel team could serve as a way to include a few other MCU heroes like the recently introduced Shang-Chi and Moon Knight. An adaptation of Marvel Knights could also bring Jon Bernthal back for his highly-demanded return as Frank Castle after his celebrated role on Netflix’s Daredevil and The Punisher.

5 Bendis & Maleev Turned Daredevil Into The New Kingpin Of New York In “Hardcore”

Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev teamed up for a hard-hitting run on Daredevil. There were a few great storylines that Daredevil: Born Again could adapt. A failed criminal takeover left Kingpin blinded, Matt Murdock’s secret identity as Daredevil leaked, and he even met his future wife, Milla Donovan.

However, Daredevil suffered an emotional breakdown during the “Hardcore” storyline that could appear on the Disney+ series. After he broke from dealing with the leaked identity and losses in his life, Daredevil declared himself the new Kingpin of New York. He took over the gangs and began eliminating crime in New York while his mental sanity continued to weaken.

4 Matt Murdock Was Arrested And Imprisoned With His Enemies In “The Devil In Cell-Block D”

Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark also had a celebrated run on Daredevil that could be perfect for the new live-action series. They kicked off their run by having Matt Murdock arrested and imprisoned in “The Devil in Cell-Block D.” Once in jail at Ryker’s Island, Murdock quickly discovered his greatest enemies like Kingpin and Bullseye were also locked inside with him.

“The Devil in Cell-Block D” explored Murdock’s troubles in prison trying to maintain his leaked secret identity. However, a Daredevil imposter in the city also created a larger mystery that tied into the death of Foggy Nelson. Murdock’s first stay in prison also featured an imprisoned Frank Castle as an ally, giving Daredevil: Born Again another chance to bring back Bernthal.

3 Daredevil And His New Partner Blindspot Met The Murderous Artist Muse In “Dark Art”

The Man Without Fear never usually worked with partners, though Charles Soule and Ron Garney introduced a new hero named Blindspot. He trained under Daredevil in one of his best costumes. It was a complicated mentorship that ended tragically for the invisible martial artist. The partnership could add a new element to the upcoming live-action series.

“Dark Art” further explored Daredevil and Blindspot’s relationship while introducing one of the Man Without Fear’s most disturbing new villains. Muse was a serial killer who used his murders to create dramatic art pieces. Muse’s deranged perception of beautiful art and his powerful abilities made him a deadly threat to Daredevil and Blindspot that fans would love to see adapted.

2 Elektra Took Over As Daredevil When Murdock Was Arrested In “Woman Without Fear”

Matt Murdock willingly turned himself in for a death that occurred while he was operating as Daredevil. He asked Elektra agreed to cover for him as Daredevil while he was imprisoned. Chip Zdarsky and Mario Checchetto’s entire run featured fan-favorite moments that Daredevil: Born Again could adapt. However, “Woman Without Fear” stands out as a great Elektra storyline.

Elodie Yung already played Elektra on Netflix’s Daredevil and The Defenders, which ended with her death in both series. An adaptation of “Woman Without Fear” could revive the character in the MCU and bring the actor back for the role. Elektra could get another chance at redemption as a hero which could further expand Daredevil’s corner of the MCU.

Batman: Year One’s Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli originally partnered up on Daredevil for the iconic “Born Again” storyline. After The Kingpin learned of Daredevil’s secret identity, he launched a plan to destroy Matt Murdock’s life. He discredited him as a lawyer, blew up his home, and gave Daredevil one of the worst beatdowns of his career.

Kingpin then unleashed the powerful mercenary named Nuke on Hell’s Kitchen. he hoped to destroy everything that Daredevil ever cared about. It brought Daredevil to his darkest depths and cemented his never-ending rivalry with Wilson Fisk. As Daredevil: Born Again shares the same title as the comic storyline, it’s likely some elements will appear in the Disney+ series.
