CAPTAIN MARVEL

MovieWeb talked to "Vikings" star Katheryn Winnick earlier this week and got her thoughts about playing Carol Danvers in "Captain Marvel."

"Are you kidding me? I would love to!" said Winnick. "I would love to do that. I'm such a big fan of those movies and comic books. It would be a dream come true, and I love kicking butt. Lagertha, my ['Vikings'] character kicks butt in the dark ages so it'd be interesting to go into the future and do a fantasy one as well." You can check out the interview clip below, which also includes Winnick's thoughts on fellow Captain Marvel fan favorite Katee Sackhoff.

POWERS

CBR has a report from a recent "Powers" press event that found series villain Eddie Izzard discussing what attracted him to his character.

"['Powers' showrunner] Charlie Huston wrote me a letter about the character," Izzard said. "It was an unusual letter. It was almost poetic in the darkness of the character. And I thought this would be interesting. 'If this guy's in charge of writing it, I think I will go and do this.'"

Izzard also compared his character to another breakout TV villain, Hannibal. "Hannibal is a character that eats people, but in this beautiful, psychotic, sociopathic way -- very precise, very cuisine, very music," Izzard told reporters. "I'm eating people, but I'm inhaling people. I said, 'We've got to drive him towards a lion-esque point of view.'"

Highmore continued praising the characters, saying "you always feel like you can identify with him. He's that kind of guy at school who wasn't perhaps in the really cool group, but who was extremely intelligent and managed to find confidence in being Spider-Man -- in this other side to his life."
