COMIC REEL: New "Agents of SHIELD" Photos, Clip; "Avengers: Age of Ultron" Official Synopsis

The first official plot description of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" has been released, and while there's not too much in the description that hasn't been heard previously, there are one or two pieces that it's good to have confirmed.

Marvel Studios presents "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision.

Alex Kurtzman spoke with "Spinoff Online" about the status of the "Venom" movie, giving sparse details about where the script is -- the team is roughing out a story with Ed Solomon writing it soon -- and which incarnation the film might focus on.

"I would not say it's an easy choice," Kurtzman told Spinoff Online. "I would say that there are quite a few things about Venom that are interesting. Venom had several different iterations, and there are several things that are very unique, interesting and specific. And so I think we all want to make sure that we're making the right choices for a character that's so beloved."

Amanda Pays will return to her 1990s "Flash" role as Dr. Tina McGee for The CW's "The Flash" this fall. However, the new version of the character will actually be an employee of a S.T.A.R. Labs rival, which differs from the 1990s version.

"When we decided to bring Tina onto our version of 'The Flash,' who better to get than the amazing actress who originated the part?" "Flash" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told . "Like with John Wesley Shipp, we are so proud and excited to have another actor from the original series join us on our new adventures for Barry Allen."

Marvel has cast Scott Glenn as Stick in the upcoming "Daredevil" Netflix series. Glenn is best known for his roles in "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Silence of the Lambs," "The Hunt for Red October," "The Right Stuff" and many more.

"Stick is one of the most important figures in Matt Murdock's life and Scott Glenn embodies all the qualities of someone so integral to this hero's journey," Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb told Marvel.com. "There are few actors who could bring such the authenticity, gravitas and charisma to such a key role in Matt's journey to become the super hero we call Daredevil."

The first clip from the premiere has begun circulating -- originally found on iTunes -- and many outlets, such as Spoiler TV, have picked up on it.

The Hollywood Reporter has a recap of the "Gotham" premiere red carpet, including Jada Pinkett-Smith's description of her new character Fish Mooney.

"My character wants to have her chance at taking over Gotham -- she works for the Falcone family which is one of the mob families that's running Gotham," Pinkett-Smith told THR. "A lot of people say she is the mother of evil and has influenced some of the villains that we know already. When I prepared for the role, I did a mashup of Griselda Blanco and Norma Desmond. I took away Norma Desmond's dramatics -- when Fish Mooney walks into a room, everything has a dramatic flair to it."
