AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
CBR’s own Josh Wigler spoke with “Amazing Spider-Man 2” star Andrew Garfield about a myriad of topics, including the possibility of bringing Miles Morales to the movieverse.
“I have given that thought. I think one of the amazing things about Spider-Man is that you don’t see skin color when he’s in the suit,” Garfield told CBR. “You don’t see any religious beliefs. You don’t see any denominations. Everyone can project themselves into that suit. It’s incredibly powerful in that way. So of course I think it’s important that the openness, the casting, in terms of who could be Spider-Man, could be absolutely anyone. A hero is a hero, whether you’re a man, woman, gay, lesbian, straight, black, white or red all over — it doesn’t matter.
“Miles Morales was a huge moment in this character’s comic book life. And I do believe that we can do that,” he continued. “It’s something I’m really interested in figuring out; an eloquent way of coexisting, or passing on the torch. I don’t have an answer, but I think it’s actually a really important move. I think it’s a really beautiful and important move.”
SuperHeroHype spoke with director Marc Webb about covering a plot beyond the origin story of the first film.
“The origin story felt a little bit… I mean, I felt like it was really important, because I wanted people to experience the character from the ground up, and it was a different character than we had seen before,” Webb told SuperHeroHype. “There was a ton of inflections that were different, so I felt like it was important. But this time, we weren’t saddled with that. We were liberated. We could all tell engaging characters in ways that we hadn’t engaged with before, but we also had a very focused goal, which was about what was going to happen to Gwen. There was a theme about time and valuing the time you have with the ones you love and that was the spine of the film.”
Very tangentally related, here’s Emma Stone lip syncing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

“It’s interesting because people will say, ‘What good is Gotham? A Gotham without Batman is stupid!'” Logue told IGN. “What’s fascinating about Gotham is like, what happened in the 20 years before Batman was so effed up that it needed a vigilante to come and save it — and those moral decisions have repercussions. … The question is, how did we get there? How did we get to the point where we had to have a Batman?”

“To see my stories and Jorge’s powerful images brought to life will be a serious thrill,” Chuck Dixon said in a press release. “We have the right partners and the right format to really make this something special. It’s an exciting time in comics and in entertainment overall and I am very pleased that ‘Winterworld’ will be a part of it.”
The series doesn’t have a release date, but is being developed as part of an original content initiative for the Xbox platform.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
Simon Kinberg said it’s possible the X-Men could spin off into television during a recent interview.
“We’re still in this place of figuring out what the future of the franchise will be, but when you look at ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ to some extent and what Marvel is doing now with Daredevil and other shows on Netflix, it makes sense to tell some of these stories in TV partly because there’s just not enough screens to do all these characters, and also because the serialized format of comic books is better suited for TV,” Kinberg said. “Because that’s it, every week you come back to the same characters different story, and in comic books every week it’s the same characters, different story. I think what [Fox is] seeing now is with the proliferation of new kinds of visual and special effects, there’s a way to make these stories that doesn’t cost $300 million every time you have to make a huge movie.”
