GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXYEmpire spoke with "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn about plans for the sequel -- and for Peter Quill's father -- and comics fans might be a little surprised.

"There have been a lot of documents passed around about who Peter Quill's father is between a select two or three of us," Gunn told Empire. "That's been part of the plan since the beginning, that's something I had to work out before we shot the screenplay. We wanted to make sure Yondu's place in everything made sense and it does, so it's all very specific stuff. ... It's definitely not the character who it is in the comics, I'll say that much."

DOCTOR WHOPeter Capaldi is set as the new Doctor in "Doctor Who," but the actor has actually already appeared a few times in different "Doctor Who" and "Torchwood" episodes. Apparently, former showrunner Russell T. Davies actually had a reason as to why -- and current showrunner Steven Moffat has been clued in.

"We are aware that Peter Capaldi's played a part in Doctor Who before and we're not going to ignore the fact," Moffat told Nerd Cubed (via Radio Times). "I'll let you in on this. I remember Russell told me he had a big old plan as to why there were two Peter Capaldis in the Who universe, one in Pompeii and one in Torchwood. When I cast Peter, [Russell] got in touch to say how pleased he was, I said 'Okay, what was your theory and does it still work?' and he said 'Yes it does, here it is.' So I don't know if we'll get to it... we'll play that one out over time. It's actually quite neat."

The BBC has also released a new trailer for the upcoming season premiere.

ROBIN WILLIAMS: 1951 - 2014Robin Williams died yesterday at the age of 63. One of the actors that could truly be called an American icon, Williams was known for his many roles -- both comedic and dramatic -- in film and television. It's difficult to say which role fans knew him best from, whether it was his Oscar-winning performance as Sean Maguire in "Good Will Hunting"; the Genie in "Aladdin"; Armand Goldman in "The Birdcage"; Mrs. Doubtfire in "Mrs. Doubtfire"; John Keating in "Dead Poets Society" and countless more. He is survived by his wife and three children.
