AGENTS OF SHIELD

The cast and crew of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." discussed season two with press at Comic-Con, with star Clark Gregg saying that the second season will pick up "months later" as the rebuilding of S.H.I.E.L.D. commences.

"The monumental nature of that task is made very clear almost immediately, because you realize everyone -- US government, US military and other wise -- wants to arrest us," Gregg said. "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s illegal. We have very few resources. Everything we're going to do involves dealing with, still, finding out who's Hydra and who's not amongst our friends. To rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D., we're going to need some old friends to prove themselves, some new friends, and we're going to have to do it in a way that's very back alley, old school -- feels very brass knuckles, Cold War spying for me."

Plus, while Mockingbird was revealed as being a part of the second season, Marvel has since revealed that Adrianne Palicki will play the role of Bobbi Morse and is slated to appear in the second season's fifth episode.

Returns September 23 on ABC

BATMAN V SUPERMAN/SHAZAM

This may not actually be a "Batman V Superman" tidbit, but The Associated Press reports that Dwayne Johnson says that he'll play a role in one of the upcoming DC Comics films, but that it's currently up in the air as to whether he's playing Shazam or Black Adam.

"I am putting my heart and soul and my bones into this role," AP quotes Johnson as saying.

Rumors have circulated for months that Johnson is actively involved in a DC Comics film. While this isn't an official confirmation, it's pretty close -- time will likely reveal when and where the actor will appear in DC's coming film slate.

ARROW

New casting news for The CW's "Arrow": Matt Ward has been cast as Komodo on the series' upcoming third season. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show's version of Komodo, Simon Lacroix, is "a deadly mercenary ... who wreaks havoc in Starling City."

"Yes, he's the villain-of-the-week for the second week of the show, but you'll see that Team Arrow's pursuit of him is part and parcel of a season-long storyline," Marc Guggenheim told EW. "You're going to know what happens to Komodo at the end of the episode, but it will be a little bit tied in better with the season-long mythology than villain-of-the-week episodes have done in the past."

Returns October 8 on The CW

DOCTOR WHO

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The BBC is launching a companion web series for "Doctor Who's" eighth season. However, U.S. fans may be out of luck -- the making-of ten-minute segments will only be available in Britain via BBC iPlayer, The BBC's video-on-demand service.

"'Doctor Who Extra' is much more than a "making of" show as we follow Peter Capaldi every step of the way throughout the creation of his first season as the Doctor," the BBC said in a statement. "Over the course of 12 programs we trace the highs and lows of Doctor Who's most ambitious run of episodes yet, getting the inside take on [season eight] from the people who made it."
