COMIC REEL: Finding "Wonder Woman's" Steve Trevor; Will Smith Ready For "Suicide Squad"

Who will play Steve Trevor? While rumors have focused around Scott Eastwood (going so far as to say he's playing the character in "Suicide Squad"), Variety suggests this may not be the case. Buried in their original coverage of Michelle MacLaren's departure is this tidbit: "Sources tell Variety that test offers were set to go out to four actors for one of the male leads films on Monday." They add that the Eastwood rumor was solid for a time, but "sources now say that is not true and that the four actors testing would be for the role of Trevor." If this true, it is interesting that the production was on the verge of cast the part when MacLaren quit.

The Daily Mail spotted Will Smith in Toronto with his look updated for his role as Floyd Lawton/Deadshot in the upcoming "Suicide Squad."

I'm still committed to my initial thought on this casting choice: Smith, should he bring his A-game swagger, will be a great big screen Floyd.

Meanwhile, Jared Leto continues to slowly reveal his transformation into the Joker with a new photo from Bad Taste (via Collider) with the character's signature hair color:

JoBlo has a bevy of Marvel news and rumors, the bulk of which concerns Cap's next solo outing with special guest star Robert Downey Jr. According to the site, "Pretty much every Avengers character that DOESN'T have their own franchise" will appear in the flick with Baron Zemo and Crossbones as the new villains. Some of the material in the report is pretty spoilery, but one thing does stand out: "Oh, and expect to see Ant-Man take on the Giant-Man form in battle." Considering that if this is true, it'll likely be in the first trailer, I don't mind sharing it.

In the same item as the Defenders/"Infinity War" rumor, Bleeding Cool also claims that a second season of the fabulous Marvel series is "75% confirmed." I certainly hope we get to see more of Peggy and Angie. Oh, and Mr. Jarvis.
