Vincent D’Onofrio spoke with Screen Crush about his role as Wilson Fisk — better known as The Kingpin — in Marvel and Netflix’s upcoming “Daredevil” series.
“I mean the whole Marvel world is so huge,” said D’Onofrio. “But I gotta tell you, I couldn’t be working for nicer people. I really am. I’m just having a great time. The whole — the way that we’re shooting it, our Daredevil, everybody that’s in the show, is just going so well. Tonight we have a big fight scene that’s happening. It’s the first time you see my character do something physical.”
In terms of the possibility of his character and the series crossing over into other Marvel products, D’Onofrio said, “I think they have some kind of plan. I’m not really allowed to discuss what the plan is, but they have a plan. I think the beginning of the plan is series stuff with Netflix, and then they have a bigger plan to branch out, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you specifically what that is.”
Joseph Gordon-Levitt spoke with Moviefone about a number of topics, including his role as Johnny in “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” and his current work on the “Sandman” adaptation.
“Right now we’re working on a script. It’s me and [David] Goyer and the screenwriter and Neil Gaiman, as well as the good folks at DC and Warner Bros,” Gordon-Levitt told Moviefone. “It’s a really cool team of people. It’s a lot of the same people who worked on the Nolan ‘Batman’ movies. It’s really exciting. There’s not a script yet, we’re still kind of working it out because it’s such a complicated adaptation because ‘Sandman’ wasn’t written as novels. ‘Sin City’ was written as a novel. ‘Sandman’ is 75 episodic issues. There’s a reason people have been trying and failing to adapt ‘Sandman’ for the past 20 years.”
Zap2It reports that actor Greg Finley has been cast as the villainous Girder in two episodes of “The Flash’s” debut season. Appearing in episodes 6 and 7 of the series, Finley will play Tony Woodward, a person who has the ability to transform his skin into living metal.
Debuts October 7 on The CW
The Wrap reports a few changes in the current “iZombie” cast. Nora Dunn, originally cast as Liv’s mother, has exited the project and wil be replaced by Molly Hagan. The series has also added Judy Reyes as Lola Abano, “a bohemian artist’s wife who becomes the prime suspect in his murder.”
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
In an interview with IGN, Jamie Foxx discussed not just his role as Electro in “Amazing Spider-Man,” but how he very nearly almost played Luke Cage.
“I was actually approached for Luke Cage back in the day, but it didn’t work out at the time. With these types of movies, visibility has to be at a certain range,” Foxx told IGN. “We did ‘Django,’ which allowed my visibility to go up a little bit and we got the call about ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ I’ve always wanted to play something in this world, so it was a trip. It was a cool thing to be in ‘Spider-Man.'”
