DOCTOR STRANGE

Sorry Ewan, Keanu, Jared, Oscar, Joaquin, Colin and every other actor in Hollywood! The role of Doctor Strange has gone to Benedict Cumberbatch -- at least according to Deadline. Marvel has yet to officially announce the "Sherlock" star as the Sorcerer Supreme, but that didn't stop Twitter from freaking out. The Hollywood Reporter has a lengthy roundup of Twitter reactions from comedians, comic creators and fans displaying the wide range of emotions felt after the news broke.

STATIC SHOCK

Flickering Myth has heard a rumor that Jaden Smith (star of "After Earth," son of Will, prolific Twitter-er) may be up for the lead role in Warner Bros. upcoming live-action digital series from the studio's Blue Ribbon Content division. Not much else is known about the series, other than the fact that it will be overseen by director, producer and comic book writer Reginald Hudlin.

AGENT CARTER

Marvel has released the full synopsis for their upcoming period piece starring Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter. It's a long read, but every word of it is welcome to the Marvel fans that have been clamoring for more Carter.

ABC presents its second action packed series from the creative minds at Marvel in "Marvel's Agent Carter," inspired by the feature films Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger" and Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," along with the short "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter."

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger," Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren't recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts.

But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.

It's 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers - aka Captain America.

When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger") finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy - the only person he can trust - to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy, "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World"), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for releasing these weapons of mass destruction. But Jarvis, who is a creature of habit and sticks to a rigid daily routine, is going to have to make some major life changes if he's going to be able to keep up with Peggy.

If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison - or worse. And as she delves deeper into her investigation, she may find that those she works for are not who they seem, and she might even begin to question whether Stark is as innocent as he claims.

The series has really been hyping up Adrianne Palicki's Mockingbird in the past week, most recently by posting a video of Palicki and Clark Gregg to the show's Facebook page.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

Buzzfeed got face time with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige during their set visit, and the Marvel master revealed that the Avengers will look very different by the end of "Age of Ultron."

"The 'Avengers' films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins," said Feige. "It's like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film."

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

ComicBook.com has snagged a quote from Jennifer Garner's interview with "Empire" magazine where she talks about her husband -- and new Batman -- Ben Affleck's Bat-voice.

"We were not privy to the Batman voice at home, but I've been on set enough to hear bits of it," said Garner. "It's spot on. Growly and decisive and sexy, if I do say so myself! Exactly what you would hope it to be!"

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a video starring Affleck and director Zack Snyder as part of a campaign to, as the video's title states, help save the bats.

In the comics, Park eventually marries Barry Allen's successor, Wally West -- who is the nephew of Iris West, a character currently played by Candice Patton on the show.

SUICIDE SQUAD

More rumors have emerged regarding the "Suicide Squad" cast, this time focusing on Harley Quinn. Latino Review has cited a secret source that pegs Cara Delevingne for inclusion in the David Ayer film. Harley Quinn's inclusion in the film is not a given, however, so Delevingne could end up cast as someone else -- if she's cast at all.
