AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.CBR's weekly chat with "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." showrunners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancheroen hit yesterday, and the husband and wife duo discussed the coming developments beginning with tonight's episode "T.A.H.I.T.I.," which introduces Bill Paxton as John Garrett.

"We definitely developed the part with him in mind, and then the day when he was actually on set playing the part, it just all fell into place and made complete sense," Tancheroen told CBR. "Bill Paxton is Bill Paxton, and brings what Paxton does to any role. It's really fun now in the room to break his stories and his dialogue, and it's really fun to see our characters play off of a guy who definitely has a distinct personality from the team we've established on the show. It's a nice contrast, as well as a nice source of tension at times. There's a lot of drama and comedy to be mined from the relationship we build with him."

The official "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Facebook page has posted a new promo for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Uprising," which is being advertised as a "maximum event." Plus, there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference to Captain America.

BATMAN/SUPERMANZack Snyder discussed Jesse Eisenberg's casting as Lex Luthor with the Los Angeles Times, describing the actor as "the real deal."

"We're casting according to what's happening in the script," Snyder told the LA Times. "And we're hoping that leads to enough originality, enough perspective on what we're doing that you get something fresh and exciting. I understand the canon. I'm not crazy. I know what these characters need from a mythological standpoint. I think Jesse is going to be an amazing Lex. Let's not forget he was nominated for an Academy Award. It's not like I just grabbed my friend to play the guy!"
