Although selfie sticks seem to crop up everywhere, they won't be permitted at Comic-Con International, organizers announced this morning with list of rules covering technology.
Before anyone can go searching for a loophole, that means selfie sticks, GoPro poles or "or any device that extends your camera or phone away from your hand."
"With so many people in attendance, protruding cameras or phones sticking up in the air are a definite hazard," organizers explained. "If you're caught with a selfie stick, you will be asked by security to put it away and not use it at Comic-Con."
The technology rules, posted on the convention's Toucan blog, also address live streaming and Google Glass, E-cigarettes and vaping products or devices, and, yes, drones. In short: no, no, no and no.
Not covered: someone cosplaying as a selfie stick or drone.
Comic-Con International will be held July 8-12 at the San Diego Convention Center.
