The virtual Star Trek: Discovery panel at Comic-Con@Home evidently did not go as planned. Viewers were presented with an error message warning them that the video was unavailable.

Deadline reported that the Star Trek: Discovery cast was engaged in a table read Thursday of "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2," the Season 2 finale. The screen went black during the recording after 15 minutes on the Comic-Con@Home YouTube channel.

The error message stated that, "The video contains content from CBS CID, who has blocked it on copyright grounds." After 20 minutes, the panel resumed, with no interruptions in the playback. A similar problem occurred during a Cartoon Network panel the same day. That outage lasted approximately 30 minutes, with an error message citing Turner EST.

A CBS AllAccess spokesperson explained, "There was an issue with our content protection that unfortunately blocked the video briefly for users who came into the feed after the panel had started. It was an issue for a matter of minutes and was quickly resolved."

Comic-Con International in San Diego was canceled in favor of online panels in the wake of coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions. The ComicCon@Home event will be live-streamed from July 22-26 on Comic-Con's official YouTube channel.
