Superheroes might be good at saving the world, but they tend to really struggle with work-life balance. This inevitably impacts their families, causing tensions to grow.

Being a superhero is the sort of job that is all-consuming, allowing heroes little time to spend with kids or lovers. Tragically, many superheroes actually mess up their kids pretty bad (it's a safe bet that Jason Todd will not be giving Batman a World's Best Dad mug anytime soon).

Despite this, sometimes the kids of superheroes turn out surprisingly well-adjusted. Here are 10 characters raised by superheroes who ended up all right.

10 Connor Hawke

Oliver Queen is the bow-wielding vigilante Green Arrow. He is also a womanizing self-destructive garbage fire of privilege and undiagnosed trauma. However, his son Connor Hawke is one of the most emotionally stable characters in DC Comics. The boy is incredibly zen, literally, as he spent years living as a Buddhist monk at an ashram.

Connor is not without his problems, including some abandonment issues over growing up without his dad present. That said, he is a straight shooter who can both live in the world and separate himself from the worst of it. After Oliver Queen died, Connor replaced his dad as Green Arrow.

9 Leopold Zola

Leopold Zola is the child of the villain Arnim Zola, but his real dad is the man who raised him: Steve Rogers. Being raised by Captain America in the alternate timeline of Dimension Z ensured that Leopold grew up tough but with a strong moral compass and a loving father who'd do anything for him.

Later, Sharon Carter took over raising Leopold as his adoptive mom and eventually they broke free of Dimension Z. As time works differently there, Leopold was an adult by the time he entered the main 616 Universe, but he immediately adapted and even became a superhero like his dad, taking the name Nomad.

8 Jon Kent

The son of Superman and Lois Lane was born with two incredibly impressive parents, both of whom would do anything for him. Lois and Clark tried to shelter their son from the horrors of the world, but that wasn't quite possible. Jon watched Doomsday nearly kill his father and his main childhood friend was Batman's psychopathic son Damian Wayne.

Despite this, Jon has managed to process trauma, deal with calamitous changes, and adapt to his environment when traveling to different time periods or realities, while keeping his head on his shoulders and his intentions pure.

7 Luke Cage

Luke Cage is the Harlem Hero with indestructible skin and enhanced strength. He has had a rough life, having been to jail and been experimented on. Still, he has overcome adversity, helped his community, started a family with fellow hero Jessica Jones, started his own business, and led at least two separate teams of Avengers.

What a lot of people don't know is that Luke Cage's dad was also a superhero, having been part of a 1970s Avengers team. While James Lucas didn't have any superpowers, he was still a hero in his own right.

6 Dani Cage

Danielle "Dani" Cage is the next generation of the Cage family, being the daughter of Luke and his wife Jessica Jones. In the current time period, she is just a baby, but her future self has been revealed to readers through the miracle of time travel.

It turns out that Dani Cage will become Captain America in the future. In fact, she turns out to be the Captain America of multiple future timelines in the multiverse. As Captain America is pretty much the most virtuous upstanding hero imaginable, it's a safe bet that Luke and Jessica did right by their little girl.

5 Hope Summers

Hope Summers is the mutant messiah and the adoptive daughter of Cable. While Cable is Cyclops's son and pretty much the embodiment of a maladjusted brooding edgelord who overcompensates by using big guns, his daughter Hope is surprisingly put together for having been raised by Cable as a single dad while on the run through a dystopian future timeline.

Hope has proven herself a natural leader and a skilled tactician. She also once lectured Magneto and Professor X at the same time about the flaws in their philosophies, proving herself smarter than either of them were when they were her age.

4 Dick Grayson

The ward of Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson was the first Robin. In time, he would grow up and take on the superhero name Nightwing. He was also legally adopted by Bruce.

Considering that Dick watched his parents be killed in front of him, was taken in by a billionaire playboy, and then trained as a child soldier, it is a miracle that he turned out all right. Unlike Bruce, who internalized his trauma, Dick is an easygoing optimist. He has worked to help other people both as a superhero and in his civilian life.

3 Tim Drake

Tim Drake is the third boy to don the mantle of Robin. Unlike Dick and Jason who were Robin before him, Tim lost one parent to an accident but his biological father actually survived. Over the years, he was mentored by Bruce, who acted as a kind of secondary father figure. After Tim's biological father was murdered by Captain Boomerang, Bruce Wayne legally adopted him.

Of all the Robins, Tim is the one with the strongest head on his shoulders. He's dealt with his fair share of tragedy (what member of the Bat-Family hasn't?) but he's risen above it time and again.

2 America Chavez

America Chavez is the real name of the universe-hopping superhero Miss America. She was born in another reality, where both of her mothers were also superheroes who gave their lives to save their world.

Forced to grow up without the loving guidance of her moms, she made her way to the main 616 Marvel Universe, where she joined multiple vigilante teams, including the Young Avengers and the Ultimates. Once there, America proved her merit as one of Marvel's most impressive heroes.

1 Franklin & Valerie Richards

The final entry on this list is a twofer examining siblings Franklin and Valerie, whose parents are Reed Richards and Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four. Being raised as part of Marvel's First Family, Franklin and Valerie were spoiled with the best education super science could provide.

Val grew up into a young woman even smarter than her dad, while Franklin is arguably the most powerful mutant in the universe. Given the success of each, it is pretty clear these kids are doing all right.
