Comic Book Questions Answered - What is a Baldy Award?

Comic Book Questions Answered - where I answer whatever questions you folks might have about comic books (feel free to e-mail questions to me at bcronin@comicbookresources.com). Here is a link to an archive of all the past questions that have been answered so far.

This time around, the question comes courtesy of Brodie, who asked in the comments section of our recent piece on the history of the No-Prize Award:

I just want to know what a Baldy Award was.

Read on to find out!

The Baldy Award was basically the No-Prize equivalent of the Superman line of comics during the 1990s (which at one point grew to FIVE titles a month!), occasionally given out to the best letter they received this month.

The actual award was a postcard "from" Lex Luthor, personally "signed" by Luthor himself...
