Comic Book Men star and self-described "popculturist" Robert Bruce has died at the age of 62.
The reality series star was found dead in a storage facility in Red Bank, where family suspected he was living. His body was discovered when a family member visited the facility to check on him, as Bruce had not been seen for several days. It is unknown how long the Comic Book Men alum had been in the unit. The death is being investigated by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
Bruce and his passion for comics turned him into a star after he appeared on Kevin Smith's Comic Book Men, which ran from 2012 to 2018. On the series, he was able to show off his encyclopaedic knowledge of comic books and pop culture. He appeared on 34 episodes of Comic Book Men and is even credited as a consulting producer on 82 episodes.
Smith responded to the news of Bruce's death on social media, writing, "[Bruce] was always a welcome addition to any episode of [Comic Book Men], as well as a nice guy. I'll miss Rob. ([AMC-TV] shot a sizzle reel for a spin-off with Rob & his family before they got rid of all the reality shows.)"
