If you haven't lived under a rock for the past few hundred years, you know that comic book videogame adaptions have been around for a while. It seems like the two mediums go hand-in-hand when it comes to making money and content based on one another. While this relationship has birthed some real winners it definitely resulted in just as many losers. Not every game is a Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

There are a lot of bad comic book videogames but some are way worse than others. With this list we'll be looking at the most cursed of the garbage pile and hopefully steer you away from these rotten apples.

10 IRON MAN 2008

Ah yes, this one is a really big throwback. Remember back in the day when every movie had to have a videogame adaptation released to coincide with the film release. Makes us wonder how many people were fooled into buying these miserable excuses for games just because it featured their favorite characters.

Iron Man released for all the main consoles in 2008 and released in the same time frame as the movie of the same name. The game wasn't the worst but it definitely wasn't the best either. The real reason it's here is because there is a good game in there along with great ideas, but the execution just killed everything good about it all.

9 X-MEN: DESTINY

This game should be renamed to "X-Men: Biggest Letdown of the Century" because after its initial release in September of 2011 that's all it was remembered for. This game's biggest offense doesn't come from its gameplay but from all the buzz and hype it generated while it was being advertised that mislead masses of videogame and X-Men fans everywhere.

That's not to say the gameplay isn't complete trash either. X-Men: Destiny is a brainless button masher with lackluster everything. The choice system was basically fake and the game was as ugly and glitchy as they come.

8 MARVEL NEMESIS: RISE OF THE IMPERFECTS

A lot of people say they have fond memories of this game and it really makes us wonder if we've all been playing the same game all this time. Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects is a sad excuse for a Marvel superheroes fighting game published by the legendary studio EA and released in 2005. It introduced some of the most edgy and creepy versions of our favorite caped crusaders since the Ultimate Comics.

Not to mention the whole game was accompanied by horribly dull combat and very uninspired OC.

7 BATMAN: DARK TOMORROW

Come on, you didn't think DC would be left out of the fun, did you? This big adventure game being developed for the Dark Knight was cut from the same cloth as the Arkham series that would later be released by Rocksteady. The only difference is those games are amazing and this game is absolute trash.

Batman: Dark Tomorrow really showed a lot of promise in production. This promise was being scaled back more and more during the game's development and resulted in a game that is all around trash.

6 X-MEN FOR THE SEGA GENESIS

Another game we really don't understand the fond memories for. This game may have fit your fancy as a kid but if you go back to it as an adult you're definitely in for the most rude awakening imaginable. The game had a lot of issues, laggy controls, clunky everything, and ear destroying music.

This is all only the tip of the iceberg because the worst thing about X-Men for the Sega Genesis is definitely the ballbusting difficulty. It's not the good kind of difficulty either. Unfair enemy placement and random spikes in difficulty are never good.

5 CATWOMAN

And the award for "Comic book movie that definitely did not by any means need a videogame adaptation" goes to... Yeah, you're probably thinking exactly that and we are too. Why did this game get made? We have no answers other than money due to association.

While we don't have a good answer to that however, we do know that this game sucks big time. Catwoman is full of horrible voice acting, boring combat and gameplay all around, and the camera is among the worst of the generation. At least it matches the movie in its quality.

4 SILVER SURFER

They really disgraced the Herald of Galactus with this one. Silver Surfer for the Nintendo Entertainment System is one of the most infamous videogames on the internet. It's known far and wide as being one of the worst games on the first Nintendo home console and one of the worst of all time in general.

The game is hard as all hell and very unfair in more ways than one. The only saving grace of the Surfer is the amazing music that accompanies the garbage and the technical achievements met with this game.

3 AQUAMAN: BATTLE FOR ATLANTIS

We refuse to believe that there is a timeline where this game turned out good. Not to make another "Aquaman is lame" joke but really what do you expect from an Aquaman game? You're stuck in an underwater world that doesn't have too much variety and that's exactly what you get with this game.

The game is ugly, the controls are bad, and it's borderline unplayable. The game feels like it was literally unfinished. In fact, it's sort of reminiscent of a game from DC that will be showing up later on in the list.

2 AVENGERS IN GALACTIC STORM

This game isn't talked about much and perhaps that's for the best. Avengers in Galactic Storm is probably the worst comic book fighting game ever conceived and most likely one of the worst fighting games in general. There is literally nothing good about this game that not even the 90s Marvel brand could save.

The 3D graphics that the game went for were ugly and unappealing, probably some of the worst of the time. The game really just fell too flat to be attractive to anyone. It's best to leave this one dead to never return to the public eye.

1 SUPERMAN 64

This notorious game has to be at number one. It would be sacrilegious to have this game anywhere other than the number one spot on a list like this. The game does literally everything as bad as possible and then some. Listen, when you're seeing a game called the worst game of all time on a regular basis from hundreds of people, you know there's a serious issue.

Superman 64 is a legendary game in the pantheon of horrible videogames and deserves the title of the worst comic book videogame of all time.
